The Tuskegee University Summer Experience Internship is a paid career-readiness and workforce development initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of socially and politically aware federal employees, financially savvy agricultural entrepreneurs, and passionate advocates for agricultural policy and sustainability. Over an immersive eight-week period from early June through late July, students engage with professionals across various sectors, gaining firsthand experience in sustainability, agriculture, and community development. Interns are placed with farmers, agricultural specialists, cooperative extension agents, community-based organizations, and other industry leaders, learning cutting-edge techniques and best practices for sustainable development. Supervised by Tuskegee University faculty and staff, interns receive guidance tailored to their professional aspirations. Additionally, participants take part in afternoon virtual discussions and presentations led by agricultural business professionals, federal agency representatives, and TU faculty and staff, enriching their understanding of key industry challenges and innovations. This internship is for college level freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
